Since coming together in 2007, The Gaslight Anthem has forged its own powerful, populist sound, marrying their punk roots with rich craft and raw emotional power to create a soulful, exhilarating, and utterly unique vision of American rock ‘n’ roll. After releasing their debut album, SINK OR SWIM, and then the SEÑOR AND THE QUEEN EP, 2008’s THE ’59 SOUND officially saw the New Jersey-based band break out on a global scale, with songs like “Great Expectations,” and “Old White Lincoln,” as well as the worldwide smash title track proving transcendent modern rock classics fueled by heroic hooks, huge choruses, and wildly triumphant energy.

2010’s AMERICAN SLANG earned epic critical applause while making historic chart entries worldwide, including a #1 debut on Billboard’s “Independent Albums.” Recorded with producer Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen), 2012’s HANDWRITTEN proved the apogee for The Gaslight Anthem’s anthemic approach, scoring top 10 chart debuts in eight countries around the globe, and features the song “HOWL,” which plays at every New Jersey Devils hometown game when they score a goal. The band pushed their music even further with their fifth studio album, GET HURT, which made top 5 chart debuts in both the US and the UK upon its August 2014 release.

Having climbed the mountaintop, The Gaslight Anthem chose to call it a day in 2015, making what they thought was their last-ever live appearance at the UK’s Reading Festival. However, 2018 saw the band commemorate the 10th anniversary of THE ’59 SOUND with a very special series of shows across North America and Europe performing the album in its entirety. The Gaslight Anthem hit the stage once again in June 2022, performing a secret set before 200 elated fans on what was supposed to have been the final night of lead vocalist-guitarist-songwriter Brian Fallon’s three-show solo run at Garwood, NJ’s Crossroads. The band officially announced their return to active status with a world headline tour hailed by Kerrang! as “an amazing, career-spanning 21-song setlist…that celebrated all eras of their music.”

The Gaslight Anthem’s sixth full-length and first new album together in almost a decade, HISTORY BOOKS once again brings their soulful breed of life-affirming punk to explore everything from mortality to mental illness. Hailed by the Associated Press as “big-hearted freeway rock,” HISTORY BOOKS includes such singles as the heavy-hearted title track, “History Books,” featuring duet vocals from longtime band champion and fellow New Jerseyan Bruce Springsteen. The Gaslight Anthem marked HISTORY BOOKS with worldwide headline dates and festival appearances including a hit-packed co-headline set at Chicago, IL’s Riot Fest.

The Gaslight Anthem is: Brian Fallon (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Alex Rosamilia (lead guitar, backing vocals), Alex Levine (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Benny Horowitz (drums, percussion, backing vocals).
